Voting Home / Little Chaple on Hwy 2
Nominated for: BEST Roadside Attraction
The Wayside Chapel was established in Kings Cross in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1964. It has ministered to the lonely, homeless, abused and dispossessed. In the late 1990's it established an illegal "Tolerance Room" (where drug addicts were able to inject in a supervised environment) as an act of civil disobedience. This eventually led to the creation of the legal medically supervised injecting centre in Kings Cross.
