The historic NORTH BEACH has attracted Western Washington
visitors for a century. The beauty of this beach comes from the
roaring surf, the everchanging sky, the wide sand scattered with
shells and driftwood, and the eroding sandstone cliffs topped with
a windswept forest.
Considerable freedom is allowed on this beach compared to the
national park to the north: drive on the hard-packed at the upper
side of the beach to find a quiet spot or reach a distant sight, bring
your dog and let it roam the sand with you, light an evening bonfire
away from the dune grass, and set off fireworks on the 4th of July!
The NORTH BEACH can be reached in less than a 3 hour drive from
the Seattle area via Olympia and Aberdeen.
